Week 9 of 2026: Diamond Dogs

  • Copilot cited public code that matched my code from my blog. I still don't know what to think. I like it, and I hope I'll never find out the truth.
  • I read this https://www.chrisgregori.dev/opinion/code-is-cheap-now-software-isnt and I agree. I can spin up a whole project in 10 minutes, but there's a lot of invisible code there after the initial scaffolding. It eats away at your time if you did not think things through. Is this the time for something on the other side of KISS or YAGNI?
  • I've been following Karpathy, like many, and I like how he thinks about software. I learned first from his work about the leaky abstractions predating neural networks, and now I see him posting about the vertiginous speed at which software is drifting away from what we used to know.
  • There's a lot of ongoing discussion about the subject of "taste" in the development of LLMs, and I'm too afar from the state of the art on this matter, but I'd like to see how we end up believing in taste models
  • I started watching Ted Lasso again, and I always crack up at the same jokes: the Tasmanian devil sounds, the "let's rewind the conversation" scene, the howls!
  • here's my February 2026 playlist.
